Does anyone know if the alarm can be disconnected? mines has been going off randomly through the night and i have just had a visit from the police to say someone has complained.

I have checked all the usual stuff and there is nothing flying about the car so im puzzled as to whats causing it :(

ive tried it with the button behind the driver seat mate but it must be on a timer or something cause it just keeps coming back on. Was hoping there was a fuse i could pul

mines is very sensitive to outside noises, was wondering if the sensitivity may be to high

I just had to go to halfords and buy fuses as i tried to lock the door wth the key and its blowing the 7.5 amp fuse every time i use the key. So there must be a problem somewhere :(

Is the button behind the drivers door on a timer or something cause it seems to switch itself back on through the night

"stop me if i'm wrong.." .. but the alarm will go off if some level of current is drawn from the battery, I believe. i.e. if you have something electrical in your car shorting out, or coming on at random in the night, it might cause your alarm to go off. If you've pushed the internal button to disable the ultrasonic sensor, it would suggest that something else is causing it to go off. Your problems with blowing fuses suggest you look at a short somewhere - VagCom MIGHT (might!) provide a hint if something shorting to ground, but it won't help if it's the radio or something like that.

Hope this helps.

p.s. you can lock the car without arming the alarm - just close all doors etc, and put the key in the drivers door lock and turn it once.

I tried vagcom mate and theres no shorting to ground. Also tried closing all doors and locking by key but it blows the fuse and the inside light wont come on then the key only locks the driver door. I'll have a better look tomorrow.

Cheers

I have a similar problem. Once i have locked the car, after about 45 seconds the alarm will go off for about 30 secs and then stop but it doesnt do it all the time only randomly. Any ideas?

turn your motion sensors off mate mite help its a button behind the drivers seat oan the back door card;)

i have tried the motion sensor switch but to no avail. Im sure it is something to do with a short somewhere as mine is still going off after pressing the button

Snap more or less the same thing mines been going off randomly only just started doing it tho- daft as it might seem i have started car up drove it forward then backwards touch wood its not gone off again yet but if it does what do i do turn the motion switch off.

When my boot lock mechanism started shorting my alarm would randomly go off at night but i could stop it by locking with the key - I realise you are having problems doing this. I would presume its something shorting in your drivers door mechanism, possibly as hooch says, from a leak..?
