Blue smoke under acceleration 2.0 TDI

Hi guys,

Was on my way to work yesterday and was on the M25, I slowed down due to a lot of traffic but noticed in my rear mirror that when I accelerated back up to speed that there was a fair amount of blue smoke coming out the back.

My car is a 2010 Ibiza 2.0 TDI FR and just shy of 96,000 miles. I've read a few topics here that suggest it is the turbo seals. Does anyone have a rough idea of the cost of replacing the turbo? I'm contemplating replacing myself so if anyone has any tips or instructions then that would be great!

I would start with a shot of Redex injector cleaner and a new air filter before making any big decisions.

Second this, plus a full tank of Shell Vpower Nitro Plus Diesel (for it's cleaning properties and other goodies), oh, maybe also an oil change (unless serviced recently), hows the colour (of oil) looking? Nice and black?

The oil is black and the car is actually booked in for a service next week.

i ran the same car for over 50K miles.

Mine would occasionally do this however I worked it only happened during a DPF regen.

You could be spot on with this, drove into work again today and no smoke whatsoever! Floored it plenty of times in 3rd but still nothing.

When I had the 2.0TDI on my Leon, on Vpower it regened noticebly less.

Noticed the same on my 1.6 TDI, it likes vpower a lot more than others, even regular shell
