Bluetooth A2DP audio streaming

Hi,

I have the usual Seat "MMI" system in my Exeo, with the colour screen and twin SD card slots behind it.

Does anyone know of a way, OEM or not, to allow audio to be streamed to it via bluetooth? I've tried using a 30-pin to bluetooth adapter in the glovebox iPod slot but this hasn't worked, the system just doesn't acknowledge the adapter is connected.

I'm happy to use MP3s on an SD card if needs be, and I don't want to upgrade to a Pioneer system or anything, but it would be nice to be able to use Spotify from my iPhone in the car without it being locked away in the glovebox.

Best suggestion gets a smile and some good karma

EDIT: Just found the tune2air adapter on Amazon which looks good. Any other alternatives about?

Steve

I was going to point you at one of these if you have an ipod connector in the glovebox, but you've already found it.

I did use one of these for a while, with excellent results.

In fact I still have it knocking about somewhere.

Thanks, the Tune2air looks good but I've heard that the steering controls on VAG cars can cause it to switch back to the iPod app on iOS devices, and as I'd only be using the connection for Spotify that'd really p*** me off.

Were you happy with the audio quality of the FM transmitter?

I bought the tune2air app yesterday and it's in transit. Will update how i get on.

I used itunes rather than spotify so can't help there.

Yes I was very happy with the quality of the FM transmitter.

I used it for 2.5 hrs a day on my commute to work and back for just over 2 years.

The tune2air bluetooth device works well with my iPhone. Does't give track names but you can skip using steering wheel controls.

That's good - I don't suppose you've used it with third party apps i.e. Spotify have you? I've heard it can skip back to iPod playlists when using the steering controls and I hate little annoyances like that.

Possibly a good idea for me then - they're not too expensive either. The steering controls would be missed though...

ah no sorry I only use iTunes for music.

I think it probably would skip back to the iTunes playlist (maybe) as when I enter the car again it automatically picks up where I last was within iTunes when I press the Media button.

Gutted. My iPod library on my iPhone only has MP3s which are already on my SD card, so the tune2air is out of the question.

Why can't they make these things futureproof...?
