Bluetooth connection no workie... Any Ideas?

I have today picked up a nice 57 plate Leon FR Mk 2.

I have been assured it has the bluetooth kit fitted but when I do a search with my phone it shows nothing...

I have also pressed the button at the end of the wiper stalk and get the MFD and Audio Option but no Phone options.

It has the large MFD I just dont know why it dont work or where its gone! There is a manual for the bluetooth kit in with my book of manuals too....

Any ideas GREATLY appreciated.

press the speech button on the steering wheel and then say something, if it says something back then you've got bluetooth. My sony Ericsson picked it up straight away after I pressed the pick up fone button and the mfd came up with attach phone or something.

Hi Pete,

Tried pressing all the phone buttons on the steering wheel and nothing

I have even just looked at the Leon Brochure I got from the dealer and it says in there about having a larger MFD which mine has...

Dont know dude I know my dads gti has all the buttons but they dont do anything, try the stereo settings, I think its the last button on the right you can put the fone volume up with that, then retry the buttons, if that doesnt work im stumped

Will try it in the morning if not I guess it will be my first trip to the dealers... At least they should be able to look at the computer and confirm its in the car but not working I guess

Daffy! He is a very good mate of mine and I have been round there tonight and checked my phone, paired perfect with his car... He did say that as my car has the big MFD he thinks it has to be in their (the original dealer also says its fitted too) I also went to see Dubnut71 tonight and he couldnt get it working either...

I actually love it more than the last car, which is hard to believe!

Sounds like there must be a problem as both the guys know what to do with it and have theirs working. If it has the big MFD and the handset signs on the wheel its must be there. Did you check under the drivers seat too for the bluetooth module??

The TDi is a great car. I don't do the miles to get the good from it so that why I got rid of mine.

What colour you get? Any other options on it? 18's, skirts, convenience pack?

Didnt check under the seat yet, is it a nightmare to get the panels out the way?

I got a Candy White with 18's, Xenons and apparently a Bluetooth prep!

Sounds nice. White really does look the mutts.

I don't have any storage or anything under my seat so was easy to see. Try putting the seat right forward or back and feeling around. Its a box thing thats attached to floor so should be easy to spot.

Thanks Jace, will try and get some pics up of it later... Picked it up yesterday PM and it was minging! Quick wash last night has it looking better... A little bit of Johnny love today should have it looking really nice

Samples! LOL everyone wants samples! Ill tell you what, the first person that can get my bluetooth going I would be more than happy to give samples and more too

Its funny though, I blame Dubnut71 in all of this, as if i hadnt driven his last November I dont think the pull to get one would have been so bad....

Sounds like a faulty Bluetooth module, the seat garage should sort that under warranty.

If you have the large MFD then it does have bluetooth, you are not able to get a large MFD without bluetooth (except if you fit it yourself)

Just a loose wire / faulty bluetooth module box..... is what my money is on.

I am gonna go have a rumage under the seat in a mo as well and then drop down to my local Seat dealer and see what they say.

I also just had a call from the company I bought the car from and he was told it could need the ecu flashing or summit...

ECU re-flash makes no sense to me, think they are guess to be honest with you.

Have a read of this thread, its how to retro-fit bluetooth, so should assist you on finding the "right" bits for you to look at

/edit to add .... it could *possibly* be disabled in vag-com, i.e. if it was an ex-company car, and their poilcy was no phones while driving, then the bluetooth could have been disabled to ensure that rule was stuck too... Do you know anyone with VAG-COM AND with the CAN-BUS style cable that is needed for the MK2's? Update - Been to Seat and they have said there is a few things it could be, they want the car for a couple of hours on Tuesday to update the bluetooth software and stuff.

I did check under the front seat (thanks Donny) and there is the big silver box under there.

Dont think I will make the meet today, too busy with clay and zaino but thanks for the offer

It just gets better!

I have just been outside and tried to connect my ipod via the Aux socket and guess what.... Nothing... I cannot select Aux by pressing the CD/AUX button it just keeps saying no CD. I even looked at the PROG button and scrolled right but still no AUX there.

Its booked in Tuesday so I guess it will all get dealt with then, but it sounds like it could be the head unit at fault now...
