Bluetooth connectivity

Just upgraded my Leon mk2 to a 14 plate mk3 Cupra 280 so just getting used to it all. Certainly nicer than my "pieced together" fr!
On the Bluetooth audio, when I use my Sony Xperia it won't let me pause, skip or see what song is playing. I had an aftermarket in my last car so got quite used to that one! I've tried the Sony Walkman, Spotify and Google Play but all the same outcome.
Is that standard on these? How do you access the playlist?

Also, any hints and tips for a newbie would be appreciated!

I've had this happen to me a couple of times; try going into your Bluetooth settings on your phone, finding your car and 'forgetting' the device, do the same via the car and re-connect from scratch and try again.

I tried that but no joy, going to try seeing if the software is up to date enough!
