Just bought myself a new phone (Motorola w377) which has blue tooth, however after several hours of trying, I cannot get the phone book to sync. with the car. [:@][:@]
The bluetooth connection works on voice dial and will receive incoming calls, but I cannot get my phone book up, to dial using the steering wheel buttons.
Is it the software on the car, and if so can I get an upgrade form anywhere other than the stealers ??

Contacted Motorola, and they have said that the phone and car MIGHT not be compatable... well that would have been nice to know before I bought the phone [:@][:@]
How are we supposed to know what phone is compatable with our cars if the manufacturers don't even know !!!!!!!!
Anyone got any suggestions ?????

more likely incompatible since motoraolas are renowned for this on Bluetooth against other devices.

workaround is:

New Phone
New Audio/CD Player
New Bluetooth Headset.

not what you wanted to hear but unless Motorola can supply a firmware upgrade i doubt you'll get it fixed quickly.

Just got an e-mail from Seat customer care (aka Ventura), who say that I have to go in to my local stealer to see if the two are compatible.
How much will they charge me for the privelege do we think ?????

I wouldn't give the dealer any money. It sounds as though the two aren't compatible. It depends on what Blueooth profiles have been implemented on the devices. Hands Free Profile or Headset profile allow you to make calls etc, but the Phone Book access isn't as simple. Short of a software updgrade on the offending device (probably the phone, Motorola's are pretty awful) I don't think that you can resolve this.
