BMC - CDA and 007p

does the bmc-cda and 007p combination make much of a noise?

To some extent I'd say yes, but I have never got this issue around noise and DV's.

An induction filter with a very short intake pipe with very few turns in the pipe will make an effective noise (intake schlurp) under hard acceleration.

I had a 007P and I didn't find it really changed the noise of the car. If you want noise out of the DV surely you should go for that new Forge DV that 'wooshes' (apologies - not v.technical).

The only other mods I made to the LCR that seemed to change the noise was the exhaust system and the de-silenced charge pipe.

The BMC sounds nice. You can hear it sucking in air but not to loud which i like.

Why not get the forge split-r valve rather than the 007p? Then you have the option of less or more noise...

Thats what i went for anyways...

this is well off topic, but very important to me.

Scot (SeatCupra), where did you get hold of the tinted rear lights on your cupra? Ive looked all over for them and can only find black lexus lights which quite frankly look sh*t.

Cheers!

PS Sorry to jump in on the thread guys. Dont mind me.

yeah whoosh of the dump valve my mate has a cupra and he has a baileys recurculating dv and a carmonial(sorry bout spelling) and its well loud

you mean a Carbonio CAI

i have a Forge 007P and a Carbonio on mine and it is very loud., almost an atmospheric sound when dumping the clutch

fear to think what it will sound like or how loud it will be when its chipped

i love it though

yeah so whats the deal with that then? thats what his sounds like

from my experience, CAI with long pipes that feed into the wing of the car are louder....i would presume they are louder, because the induction pipe is quite long that it means the air flowing through it resinates alot more, hence making much more of a Wooshy/Atmospheric DV sound

it is the closest thing you can get to an atmospheric sound on the 1.8T engines

i had a Ford RS once (Blasphemy i know!!) and that had an atmospheric DV on it, and to be honest, the Leon is not far off it

if that is what you are looking for then i recommend the Carbonio CAI

I have been in two mapped LCRs one with ram air induction kit and one with the bcm... both had the 007p which was louder INSIDE the car than oe set up, but not OTT at all. also the induction roar over standard was a bit louder.

both induction roar and dv were louder than my stage 2 LCR with modified air box/007p! (mine is only slightly louder than oe)

if you want your DV to be woooshy you need an open cone filter pure and simple! ;) (make sure you use a heat shield and cold air feed if you go this route IMO)

Initially I had my Dynatwist 80mm air intake located into the inner wing and down into the fog light area. Had no discernable noise from the filter at all. When I cut the pipe back as short as I could and attached to the SEAT Sport air intake from the front grille I got a louder air intake rasp.

Less corners and less distance for air to travel means less air disruption and hence air hits filter harder. I even pulled the flexible intake hose taught and then duck taped it to remove as much restriction as possible from the side walls of the intake pipe.
Wait for the split R DV if you want the DV sound. 007P wont help you at all with noise.
