Another update to confirm the front of the car definately needs respraying, not only has the bloke whos does my bodywork on my cars told me it does, i have also had a Paint correction company come and look at the bonnet today and they said its definately the bra that has done this it is nothing to do with the paint work!

I think ive got quite a good case with autobra now, dont you!?!

Had this problem with this on my 8v , recked my bonnet and weakened it , jet wash pulled some of it off. so i sold the car with it on , LOL i want one for my new 20v but i doubt it will

ive got a black bonnet and i only leave it on for couple days at a time and take it off in the garage.

but before i resprayed the bonnet (due to stone chips) i left the bra on in rain/sleet/snow etc and it did nothing to the paintwork, still use my bra all the time on my new bonnet and its mint.

also my mates got a red polo, his on on more than mine is, sat out in the elements at night and his bonnet is fine, he hardly take his bra off in fact

bit weird your one :(

just got this off of autobra website for you mate

When fitting the bonnet or full mask the vehicle must be clean; be sure that there is no dirt between the bonnet and the mask or this may cause damage to your paintwork.. Also make sure the car is totally dry before application. Do not put the mask on the car when the car or the mask is dirty.

The mask should not stay on your car more than 3-7 days max (dry), without washing as damage may be caused due to road debris being gathered onto the vehicle and working its way under the bra. This will vary depending on the time of year and road conditions.

The bra also 'must' be taken off straight away after a journey if the vehicle has been out in the rain. The bonnet bra/full bra must not be left on the vehicle for a long period of time when wet; it must be taken off and totally dried before being put back on the vehicle.
