Bonnet Lifters?

i'm after a set of bonnet lifters, just to make the car look a bit tidier, are the mk3 ibiza ones the same as the mk2, given that it's pretty much the same car?

Yes fella.. the ones I have on my Mk2 were originally on a mk3

must be a direct swap pretty much, the mk3 and m2 ibiza both share the same body work (bar the wings and front bumper and bonnet. but the underneath is essentially the same car

i ordered some mk2 golf ones, apparently they're the same fit to, £16.99 from volksbits

i heard they dont fit the 16v though? ...i think jamin bought a set from the mk3 section so maybe they do?

does the bonnet fit properly when there fitted. my old golf mk2 bonnet used to have a gap along the shut line. as the lifter would push on the bonnet

yeh i believe its this same problem with the 2.0 16v's

they dont even open the bonnet fully do they? its a sort of 3/4 opening

plenty enough room to 'get in there,my saaan'.. as it were.. all i did with the shut line 'difference was to 'form' the inner lip slightly... seems to shut ok , tbh..

Just to clear this up, in the absense of Mk2/3 Ibiza fitment, what other struts is the same/would fit from the VW range?
