Cables proberly streched mate, I had it on my mk2 was about a tenner for the cable from seat and fitted it myself.

David.

not had much time to look at it - finished fitting the some HID, drove home and noticed it before i walked in

will get it on a ramp tomorrow.

cheers!

I mounted the hid ballast just above the back of the headlights - ive bolted them down to the metal frame where the bonnet sits through a hole in the frame - Temporary -

just hope thats not somewhere caused the issue -

this was happening with mine, theres probably not enough tension on the catch adjust the catch down, this will pull the bonnet down now with the rubbers on the side of the bonnet screw these out. if u do this it should pop much easier.if u cant open it push gently on the front of your bonnet while a mate pulls the release

tried pushing down on the bonnet trick but didnt work - had someone look at it late 2 nights ago and seems to think where the cable catches on the front lock has come off -

but will try the pliers -

Surly if if it had come out of it position the handle would not retract to its normal position as there would be no tension at all? i could be wrong.

David.

lol - trying to think if it retract or did i push it back - finishing work in about an hour so will double check - hopefully it retracts -

cheers fella!

managed to get it open - the lock is buggered - i brought a new one and thought id change the cable aswell -

how does one go about changing the cable - comes in two parts - where does the cable run along/under?

cheers

How much did this lot cost you as I am also having a problem with my bonnet opening.

I pull the lever and it pops no problem. Its when I come to pull the plastic bit out from the grill, it comes out but it will not release the bonnet. It takes about 5 minutes of yanking on the plastic bit to get the bonnet open.

I was thinking of replacing the bonnet catch mechanism and have been quoted £55.10 for the replacement bit.

So just wondering how much it cost you for all the bits including cables?

bloody hell - i dont remember paying that much - thing is i still havnt changed mine - been a lazy arse -

i dont remeber paying more then £25-£30

thats for the lock itself and the cable - which comes in two pieces
