boost gague help

i've spent most of the day reading through threads the search gave. but never come across a clear answer for this one.

what type do i need mechanical or electric? and whats the difference between them?

Ive recently bought (not fitted) an electrical one and I was told that it taps into the actuator pipe and uses a pressure sensor to determine what boost there is, which eventually turns the gauge via electricity. A mechanical one taps into one of the intercooler pipes or the inlet manifold and uses pressure to turn the gauge. These can be noisey though and i believe the electrical ones are more accurate.

Correct me if im wrong.

i heard these rattled on a diesel ?? any one vouch for this ??

want a mechanical one but dont want noise

it should only "rattle" if there is insufficient restriction in the feed pipe, easy fix
