Hey peeps

Contradicting opinions here, and I want to check something.

Over the last 2 weeks or so, my car is boosting more than usual, so much so I hit limp mode once, which I've never done before.

My boost gauge is reading 23psi peaks, and I'm not happy about it so I'm going to back off on the sps3 to T7B6 as I'm on T7B7 at the moment.

Now, I've been told that hotter weather makes car boost more??? Can this be true? As I'd logically have thought the opposite - car would be slower in the summer.

Can peeps confirm please - many thanks!

boost and heat soak are different things, the car will feel slower due to heat soak, which means hotter air is being burnt "less effectively" so the car will feel slower.

Boost will be the same, only reason i can think of reasons why it would be more is maybe the ambient air pressure is higher, which it usually is in hot weather

 really?

All i know is my car is boosting more than usual over the last couple of weeks. Nothing has changed on the car bar a thermostat, but it hit limp mode before that was done. Havent changed anything else, no errors in vag-com... all I know is my boost gauge (and vag-com) are reading higher PSI... i've seen vag-com read a 24 at times.....

Hot air is less dense so to to get the same mass of air you need a higher pressure, ie boost so during hot weather it does boost more to compensate

Also may contribute!

ahhhhh, so in other words every summer i need to turn the remap boost level down then....

Some people told me you got LESS boost in summer, so had to turn it up. Which i havent done cos I am running too high as it is.

Thats what i wanted - cheers!

well i've turned it down - and i'm still boosting like crazy..... :S

Currently on T7, B6....

What settings are other revo2 LC's running at the moment peeps??? Cheers.

ive noticed mine boost slightly higer in the hot weather only about 2psi more i think it might be to do with the pressure of the air not the density of the air. think of it this way if you heat something up the air expands in side it making more pressure but if you cool it down it shrinks slighly even though there is the same amount of air pressent, not 100 percent on this and that may be wrong but thats what i would have thought!

Hey Pabs, just noticed this thread. I'll have to agree with you here, I too have noticed my boost is slightly higher.

I usually hit 9psi but just recently I'm hitting slightly over 10psi.

The weather does funny things doesn't it!

ive noticed if i put 95ron fuel in, i dont get above 18 psi, normally 23/24
