Right, tonight I have checked osver coil sticks and plugs, as it says cylinder 2 i swapped the coil stick from 2 to 1 and tried up the road...still missfire on cylinder 2, so i swapped the plug from 1 to 2 (so basically both the plug and coil stick from 2 is in cylinder 1) and still says cylinder 2 missfire, leaves me with either an injector thats gone down or a air leak. Smoke test being done at the weekend. But done all this to see what else comes up.

Yea as in starts perfect, idles perfect and gets to 5000rpm perfect, and doesnt missfire.it just seems to stop boosting for 1 second at that point and then kick back in again, but it doesnt do this every time. On a diagnostics reader it can register a cylinder missfire and its not always the case. This is why im finding it wierd and the tests ive done tonight have proven its nout to do with coil sticks and plugs. :s lol

Could be degrading wires to coilpack 2, not difficult to check for corrosion or oxidation on the wires beneath the insulation.
And of course could be other things lol I always love diagnostics!

Found the problem today!!!!!!!!!! :)))

My cat had decided it wanted melt itself and block my exhaust slightly, new scorpion exhaust and de-cat has solved the issue :) have got a few pics of some of the cat that has come out, looks like molten rock lol

good find.. Now, I would be thinking why did the cat overheat to the extent it did that?
Fuel pressure and lean running springs to mind..

I would be checking afr's under boost are in the 12's if this were mine

Well a coil stick failed just before i got the car, so the lad may have driven around with it like that for a while which would then cause it to melt part of the cat with the fuel not burning efficiently, its not the first time its happend to me on a car anyway. Maybe im just unlucky :) lol ile give it a check over in general but after i found that the cars been perfect right through the revs.

Cheers.

Exactly as he said!
Ibiza's are old now, most will have failing pumps. Not an expensive upgrade to a s3 / LCR pump. (4bar as opposed to 3 oem in the Ibiza.)

Also not difficult to check fuel pressure etc... Worth doing before it melts something else....

With the lcr fuel pump, will that gain any additional BHP with a remap on the standard ko3 turbo or is it just better for overall performance? and what's the biggest injectors you can run on a ko3? or is it best to leave them as standard? and is it a beneficial mod? I know I have a fuel pressure tester kit knocking about somewhere so will probably give that a go over the weekend :) plus I can get injector timings ect from the readings on the slolus.

Nice melted cat......

I would definitely still be investigating the cause of that...

A uprated pump will add no power, but it makes it more reliable and capable of more power if you choose to in the future. Although if your is tired you may well notice a large difference driving it.

As for the injectors.. Leave them, they're more than sufficient.

Injectors 1 and 2 had fuel residue around them. Looks like its been like it for a while. So replaced them yesterday got all 8 seals for all injectors. Seems to be smoother from doing that. Are any other parts required to fit a lcr fuel pump??

checked n75 valve maybe playing up under increased pressure? the engine bay on that pic above looks amazing!
