Hi guy's, wonder if someone on here could help me. I am toying with the idea about selling my LCR and purchasing an Altea FR TDI. I was wandering if someone who owns an Altea could pop out to the boot and measure the size of it from side to side for me?

I need a diesel for work and my LCR has just got to 60k so I think I need to move more into a 4+ 'family' friendly car, like the Altea.

Any advice would also be great.

Cheers
Gareth

I can pop outside and measure the Altea again for you if you wish. I can also take many photographs of it from various angles and in differing light conditions (but you may need to wait for a bit of daylight). But my neighbour might think it a little curious that I'm so interested in his car for no apparent reason other than my mate wants to know how big the boot is....

Course I have an Altea. :p

Oops, just measured it again and it's 1020mm wide in the actual boot space, and 965mm is the widest horizontal opening. I can measure it again and make it bigger if you choose, but I'd be telling fibs.

Then again, if I measure it across the diagonal I can actually make the boot entrance wider than the boot itself. but that's a little bit distorted in real terms as the entrance would actually be wider than the space it opened into. Sort of Doctor Who / Tardis like, but in reverse.... :funk:

I think you'll just have to believe me when I say it's 40" wide and 38" entrance.

Hmmm, taking the p155 there.

Should I measure the XL and see who's the biggest. Perhaps we can both max out (push forward) our sliding seats :D

On the serious side edmong1981, I've had a Leon, an Altea and now the Altea XL (also a Toledo with its Mary Poppins boot) and I'd say the Altea is bigger than the Leon, maybe shorter but a lot deeper.
