Boot won’t pop open with key

I installed gas struts to make boot pop open with holding the key fob button but when I hold the button it does nothing other than just unlocking and not popping opening as others has said it should pop when holding it. Any help would be appreciated thanks. Newbie to SEAT

I’ve read elsewhere that it should make a slight noise when you hold the key fob. I’ve got the mk2 Leon preface lift 08

as far as i know the pre facelifts dont have the option to do it from factory and it needs to be coded with VCDS or OBDeleven mine doesent and its an 06 so pre facelift my friends leon doesnt have it but got it coded and it works now
