All,

After trying and failing with the Valeo aero wipers (smearing and lifting off screen) and reading the results over the two wiper threads, I am going to give the Bosch Aero Twin Retro's a go as my standard wipers are on the way out.

Now the issue I have found when searching for Leon ones is that wiperblades.co.uk just do the 2 x 65cm blades, I have just found this site that does a set and one is 21" and the other is 19"

https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/home.php?cat=833

I am right in thinking these will fit as the adapter is universla and the lengths are correct arn't they?

wiperblades do the same kit 530mm and 475 mm?

Yeah I know that now they are under Ibiza though;) I was searching under Seat > Leon on wiperblades.co.uk but when I looked on the Autobulbs site they had a Seat only section and I saw them and it listed Ibiza, so I then went and found them on wiperblades.co.uk

I was just after confirmation that these are OK for the Leon as far as the adapter being universal and the size

I've had a set fitted for 4 months now, they are spot on, much better than standard and touch wood, no problems with them.

Will keep an eye out for your thoughts on this then guys. Now the price is sensible and retro-fit ones are easier to get hold of, I might try some when my current Bosche OE replacements are dead :)

it seems bizarre that people can have such varied experiences with a simple product on the same car! some people like myself think the valeos are great, others have had big problems with them!

Yeah it don't seem fair, I posted in the main Valeo wiper blades post that I got them and about 20 others found them spot on yet mine were rubbish, I still have the drivers blade and even gave it another go a few weeks ago, still same result, leaving streaks of water and lifted at any speed over 60mph, standard ones back on and a spot on other than they are about 12 months old now so wear indicators are lit up like traffic lights and they have started to leave some streaks.

Just hoping the Bosch ones are OK or I may have a dodgy arm set up that don't like aero wipers LOL

Will be getting them soon as ordered today and will post the results....

Strange wiperblades.co.uk list the Bosch Aero Twin Pack on all Leons other than if you choose 2005 ?? they give 2x65cm blades for that, must be new shape Leon???

Just ordered a set now :)

Want to go down this route myself .. is there anything significant between the Bosch / Valco's?

Or is it just down to personal preferece

Top Wipers!

Ok blades arrived today, only ordered them Sat lunch time and chose the cheapest delivery ;)

Well first thing I noticed is that the passenger blade is actually the right size so no faffing with the wiper arm spindle this time as it does not overhang at all, fitted both in about 2 mins outside the post office and then drove off, was nervous about wiping with them after the Valeo ones but they wiped smooth as silk with no judder (excellent result as I had a IMO car wash yesterday with hot wax so that always makes wipers judder for a while no matter how good they are) they did not lift off the screen either at any speed up to 80mph (private road)
Only thing I did notice was the tip of each wiper leaves a small smear at low speeds but as soon as there is any down force of the spoiler they do a 100% wipe, I am hyper critical when it comes to wipers mind.

In short these are the dogs dangly bits

I have thought of one possible reason for me not getting on with the Valeo's mind, in that they were ordered for a 2005 Leon from wiperblades.co.uk (this option doesn't even list the Bosch Aero twin’s) and the passenger side was much longer than the Bosch one so I may have been sent the wrong type???
