Brake Caliper colour - thoughts, opinions & ideas wanted!

OK guys & girls - I want you to throw in some ideas on what's going to look best on my calipers.

Currently I have bland silver stock calipers and I think they need a bit of love!

Red FR logo on extremely dirty purple car:-

My thinking is that the FR red is the best thing to go for with the gloss black diamond cut face alloys.

I'm just looking to paint them in situ so lots of masking etc. with the wheels off and then lacquer over.

What's your ideas?

I've just bought red to do mine - my car is white as per my avatar, but I plan to wrap bits in black (front lip, licence plate panel, chrome grille surround) so I thought red calipers and black parts = the FR badge colours like you say.

Plus as an added bonus red is my fave colour haha.

On a black car I think every colour works well so its a tough choice. As well as red I particularly like the blue against the black, but this wouldn't tie in to the FR badge.

I considered black too, but the problem is it can look like you haven't painted them at all - its barely noticeable unless you're looking for it. Depends if you want the 'stealth' look I suppose? Or you could put some stickers on the calipers afterwards? You can buy FR caliper stickers on Aliexpress or ebay

Easily sorted with some smooth blue hamerite paint.

This blue was the exact match to the standard blue painted to my vectra vxr calipers.

I'm waiting for a few more chips and scuffs first. But there's a guy I've seen on FB who does them like a mirror finish in whatever colour you choose.

Yeah a nice glossy black with white stickers (not too big) could look spot on. Or play it safe with red

Red buddy just like I've done mine to match the red in the FR logo, if you get FR wheel caps match the red to them.

I'm looking at doing the same to mine. Going to paint them red.

Anyone have any tips for how to do it? Should I take them off and spray completely or keep them on and tape everything up before spraying/ brushing?

Consensus seems to be towards red!

I have to say that's the way I'm leaning - just wasn't to sure how it would look against the purple.

If anyone has any hints or tips on how to mask, prep & paint (rattle can or tin & brush etc.) then I'd be glad to hear!
