Has anyone noticed a definite clunk from the brakes when applied in reverse? It almost sounds like the pads moving back in the callipers, if that makes sense? If I brake to stop, go into reverse then use the brake to stop there is a definite 'clunk' of a mechanical nature. So 'do they all do that sir' or are my brakes defective?

I haven't found this in the search, which is even more worrying!

My 1.2 does this on the front left, when they lubricated the brake caliper carrier it helped, will ask them to look at it come service time.

My 280 does it... Ive gotten used to it though..

I'm starting to notice a clunk now and again when the steering wheel is turned I put it into reverse gear. I assume this is a normal sound to make? It doesn't sound too healthy.

Hang on you arnt hearing the fuel tank sloshing from side to side? I had this in my 1.6tdi courtesy car, thought I had hit something.

Nope, I get that bit this is (was) a VERY different sound.

Had it sorted on a dealer visit. They wouldn't say what they did (claimed the mechanic had gone home).

My 290 st does this but only when parked on a slight incline for a couple of days. It's basically the brake pads sticking. I've had other cars do the same . I have no problem with it!
