I changed mine to EBC ultimax discs and ferodo ds2500 pads a few weeks ago, and they seem spot on. Discs were 150 and pads were about 80, from badger5

I had mintex exteme pads on before...brake fade was terrible sometimes and they squealed badly.

I got a set of Mintex standard discs and pads of the 'bay for about £70... fitted them myself. They stop me well enough. You get what you pay for though ;)

so the discs are good then?? are they the ones with loads of small grooves??

yep those are the ones and they do seem good, but I think decent pads are more noticable than decent discs. If you look in the "Tyre hitting arch liner!" thread there's a pic of them.

Me to mate i bought the same mate but did the front and rear, cost about £120 all in i think. They do the job well and cost pence really

My backs need doing aswell really. I think they're OK if you need something just to get them sorted quickly without spending a load of cash. My plan was to upgrade the pads soonish anyway and see how that goes.

I'd say if you're running more than 190bhp with 280mm discs then DS2500's are the only way to go.

Mintex extreme pads with k03s setup were pretty comical, took them off within a couple of months

standard rear discs and pads are fine, I think bill still uses them on his beast

think im going to go for the ebc ultimax discs and DS2500's pads, should be pretty good by what people are saying, plus im putting a ko3s on in the next couple of weeks so want a bit more stopping power

I'd tend to agree with you there mate, mines 198bhp and it could do with stopping as quick as it starts - but when they NEEDED doing, the cash wasn't there so they were a good 'stop gap'.

yep thats exactly why I had to get the mintex extremes, I needed pads that day and they were the best I could find locally. There's nothing like a bit of forward planning lol
