Guys, just wondering on opinions on Brakes.
Looking to replace disks and pads on all wheels on 04 2.0TDI Sport. Dealer parts without discount come to around £270.
Assume its best to go with 'Approved' parts or would they be much of a saving going for 'equivalents' and would they be as good as originals?
Have been offered a pretty good 'fitted price' from the dealer that I am considering just going with, any ideas on fitting costs from a Non Dealer for that Job?

Great Guide, for the 312's assume I need matching Pads, Which Seat's have 312's. The Leon Cupra? Any upgrading to be done at the rear or does that involve calliper changes?
Appreciate any part numbers anyone has for the 312's.

You only need new discs and caliper carriers for 312mm. The calipers and discs are the same for 288/312mm. Try German & Swedish (GSF) they often do discount if you buy discs and pads together.
Or go 345mm! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2768957#post2768957 - this is a 312mm to 345 upgrade.
Don't bother with rears, unless you see some R32 rears up for grabs. I have 345mm from R32 and have found no imbalance in breaking even with spirited driving.

Leon/Altea FRs have 312mm discs. the Carriers are the expensive bit. Your old Callipers can be reused.

As to the Rear. FR's have 286mm discs. (standard is 255mm afaik) Carriers/Callipers, pads, splash guards and discs are needed for this upgrade.

I still have to fit mine. got most of mine from a rear axle from a Golf Mk5 GTI.
