my brakes make a rather loud noise a bit like a fog horn/boat crashing into rocks  rather annoying tbh its still in warrenty so can go get it sorted, but is there something wrong or is it just something i have to put up with?

i had a squeeking noise a couple of weeks ago just needed new brake pads, but your noise sounds abit more servere.

my 1st Ibiza had a crunching/scratching sound which could be felt through the whole car, turned out to be a brick stuck between the brake calliper and heat shield! as it wasnt mechanical SEAT charged £25 to remove it!

its a kind of highish pitched grinding noise (a bit like a moooo'ing noise). its hard to describe it only happens in reverse never makes a noise when normally braking. doesnt make any vibrations or anything else just the noise :boggle:

shouldnt be brake pads as they were new when i got it (february)

What kind of brakes? If its drums there could be grit, mud, or some other crap caught in there.

Mine makes exactly the same noise on my rear discs. But they break fine. Im guessing its just because the rear brakes do not get used a whole lot except when in reverse so the discs n pads are more 'weathered'. Would like to know exactly what it is though

yeh mine are disks all round. i may take mine to seat to check it as tbf its quite annoying when reversing into spaces

mine makes (what im guessing) is a similar noise, only when i turn right :S, ive bin told its the pads rubbing, Bit of a clean and copper slip so they sit correctly is the sollution so ive bin told.. is this correct, anyone else had a similar problem :S?

Ok so it's only when you reverse, this is an old trick to stop discs/pads squealing, remove pads, clean them and add copper grease to the backs then file a champher to the leading edge of the pads

maybe file the champher to the trailing edge as it is only when reversing
