My wifes got an`02 Toledo TDI and when u pull up the handbrake on a hill or go around a corner /roundabout too sharp the handbrake light flashes & beeps . When it had a mot a couple of months ago they had to adjust the drivers side rear brake as it was binding . Anyone with any ideas please

Hi there

My Ibiza was prone to this. Check the brake fluid level, as its probably low. When it sloshes around in the tank, it goes below the level to set off the buzzer. Mines done it also when accelerating hard.

Brake fluid is a closed system. if its low i would have a look around...........its loosing somewhere.
My offside rear caliper p155ed fluid all over my alloys under braking..the copper washer has stopped sealing!
just an idea!

brake fluid level will also drop as your brake pads ware

I think the level dropped when it had work done after the MOT , they cleaned /released the rear caliper . Took it to the garage that`s done all the servicing and they checked for leaks and it all seemed ok . As the last service was 3 months ago they did all checks & topped up the brake fliud for no charge

When i first read that i thought it read:

i was laughing at the thought of a Toledo TDI being thrown around like a Saxo Vts the mental picture was hilarious!!! that said they did an Octavia rally car
