WTCC at Brands Hatch. BTCC at Oulton Park. Both take part on the same day (27 July).

Would love to go to the WTCC but it is quite a distance from Durham (about 300 miles). Oulton Park is only half the distance.

Is anyone going to either of these events?

I'll be going to Oulton Park, I just find the BTCC to be a more of an entertaining spectacle to be honest. WTCC is ok, but if given the choice I'll be at the BTCC. Even if Oulton wasn't my closest track. :)

FIA mucked the calendar about this year, it wasn't supposed to clash but the WTCC ended up changing at the last hour. BTCC had already made their arrangements based on the provisional calendar and rightly so decided to stick to their set plans.

Shame as SEAT UK usually use the WTCC as a good PR opportunity and even managed to get many SCN members passenger rides with the WTCC drivers in years gone by. But they'll be focusing on Oulton Park this year.

Too add, SCN should hopefully have track side group parking at Oulton Park too, will know more nearer the time once SEAT confirm.

Id consider Brands,

The nature of the Oulton Park circuit doesn't seem to make exciting races

Couldn't disagree more to be honest. It's one of the drivers favourite circuits in the country, there has to be a reason for that.

Seeing them barrel sometimes 3 abreast into Lodge corner and into deer leap is nail biting. The drop down into cascades too, where we usually have our parking is a test of nerve. Almost every year someone ends up in the tyres at Old Hall too.

It may not have the views of the tiny Brands Hatch Indy, but I find Oulton to produce no less thrilling a spectacle of racing., especially when the BTCC are there. :)

I will certainly be at Oulton Park for teh BTCC. I haven't seen a BTCC race at Oulton Park before but have seen other races there in the last year and foudn them to eb very exciting races and tehre are some good vantage points. Will await details of teh SeatCupra.net parkign arrangements.

I havn't used it as much as I should and I hadn't realised that WTCC and DTM at Brands clashed with 2 BTCC events :( (Also held at MSV locations which the pass would have been valid for if my memory serves me right) highly frustrating but I know for next year should get my money back through attending plenty of events in the late summer / autumn though.

Am yet to meet you yet tris.. not bumped into you down at TMC yet and first race at Brands I only saw Ben as we didn't make it down to the hospitality unit / SCN gathering!

I'm going up for the WTCC at Brands - is it the same as last year, parking on the infield southbank. If so, hopefully see you there....
