Hi

I know this has probably been covered many times before but just want your opinions on what pads to get. i just use my car for daily use really it doesnt go on the track or anything like that.

i find the original brembo shed quite alot of dust, do the ferodos? they have only lasted 27000 miles is this the norm? also ive heard the ferodos arent that good when cold is this true?

any advice would be appriciated :)

I have the ferodos and i have no problems from cold at all. They are awesome for the road you will not be disapointed for sure. The ds3000 are the track ones, but the 2500 will be fine for the road.

What i will say though, you thought you had brake dust before? these are much worse, but they are working harder so its expected.

i recently paid £9 for a set of ds2000 pads for my new project, just thought i'd be smug and mention that :D

thanks for your replys. looks like ill be getting the ferodos then. is there a bed in process for these? wheres the best place to buy them from? also my discs have worn down by 1-2mm worth changing? could be an excuse to buy some decent discs aswell lol :)

Dan did you change your gearbox oil? did you notice any difference?

dude ou want decent upgrade for brakes at a good price use Badger 5 on here. Lightweight 2 piece discs 330 mm.

They are quite pricy but so so worth it. I had no bedding in process with mine at all, then again i didnt have new discs, just the ferodos.

DOLBY: yeah i have seen these they look nice. i take it theres a big difference over the standard discs? whats the max you can take a disc down before you lose performance?

minimum disk thickness for lcr is 26mm, ie 1mm/side max wear

Wow, so on that basis you shouldn't really feel much of a lip around the disc at all then? Think mine are pretty shot if that's the case, altho they passed MOT with no problem. Guess I should be thinking about new discs and pads before long...

Got some ferodo's DS2500 pads still bedding them in they are getting better each day. i have a squealing noise at very low speed when braking, only coming from drivers side tho. i put copper slip on the back of the pads. any ideas what the problem could be?

i put copper slip on the back of the pads

on the backs of the pads? that will just encourage dust to stick to the back of the pads and nothing else. the only place you need to use copper grease is on the contacting edges between the pads and calipers and on the slides.

i just put some on the back of the pad, where the pistons make contact with the pad. im goin the take the drivers side out tomorrow and have a look

mine squealed at low speed until fully bedded in - anything from a few weeks to a month

how many miles does it take for them to bed in? just wondering why its only one side tho.

fitted ds pads and grooved discs and they were rubbish, eventully fitted cheap mintex pads which wre miles better, dont believe the hype

:wtf:

That's a bold statement.

I was looking into getting some of these, how comes they were rubbish?

A lot of people swear by them.
