probably poorly grooved discs which required a softer compound of pad to work or you wern't getting them hot enough.

never heard a bad word about DS2500s - never heard a good word about mintex

i think there great, just need to sort this annoying squeal out on the drivers side. how many miles roughly do they take to bed?

you could try filling the edge off the pads.

rule of thumb is about 300miles before they are bedded in.

i was thinking that, about fileing a slight chamfer on the pad. my disc's have 0.50mm of wear on both faces so 1mm wear total, so there is a slight lip. i did the drivers side first when fitting the pads, one of the pads was a bit tight getting in because i didnt slide the piston back far enough so maybe the copper grease i but on the pad may have come off as i pushed it in because the piston was in the way, if that makes sense? (so metal against metal hence the noise?) will have a good look at the weekend. i have about 200 miles to go then roughly

i mean the filing the edge of the back plate so they are free in the caliper.

ds2500

The DS2500S didn't heat up fast enough for normal road use and this was quite a scare when u had ur family on board. may be ok for fast road use but not for me. the leading edge crumbled away quite badly and i just had to get rid. mintex pads are better for road use though do produce alot of dust. mintex are better than original brembo pads which gave a convicing initial bite but were not so good for hard breaking. just my opinion but DS are not for everyone. jp

DS2500's have a higher coefficient of braking across the entire temp range, so what you describe does not ring true...

just an update, i managed to sort this squealing noise out on low speed, all i did was put some more copper slip on the pads. :)
