Brembo's and 17's

I picked up my FR+ the other week but hasn't got great brakes can the lcr brakes fit with the R style 17's?

I've got a horrible feeling they won't....But I could be wrong (which I'm sure someone will correct me)

Have you considered uprated pads?

yeah i have but i've only got the 288mm discs so the easist upgrade would be to 312's same caliper different carrier but i just like the look of the brembo's

OMG! How good are they! I love the thought of sticking plastic covers on my brakes, I reckon they would hold out really well after some hard driving and braking. What a great idea! lol

As for real Brembos, Im almost certain they wont fit on 17s, ive heard loads of people having trouble finding 18 inch wheels for their LCRs that can accommodate the brakes, so I would imagine that 17s are well out of the question, sorry mate.

I suppose the easiest way to find out for definate is to find someone near by with an LCR and see if one of your wheels will fit over their Brembos. Then let us know on here because this thought has crossed my mind too.

My understanding was that the standards 17's won't clear the calipers - hence spacers being needed or bigger wheels

wonder how much those ebay ones resist brake fade and high temps? I seriousness i think i'd get the real thing want the upgrade in performance. The only thing stopping the calipers fitting with the FR+ wheel should the diameter because its identical to the 18" of the R. right has anyone got an R in or near warwick that would let me try one of my wheels on.

i seem to remember reading somewhere that the reason the LCR had the 18s and not 17s was so that they would fit over the brembos. i could be totaly wrong tho!

17" Compomotive MO's clear the brembo's, but not SEAT Oe 17" rims so far as I know

A mate of mine with an Audi S3 has just had Brembos fitted (I've seen them).

His rims are 17".

its not a diameter thing, its a spoke clearance thing.
50mm caliper clearance req'd to clear brembo calipers.

my tdi came with the brembo calipers when i bought it, and she has 17" on her.
stealership said they were an optional extra an he paid big bucks for them. I'm not sure of pad/disc size though as not had to replace these in the last 20k and all good

or at least i hope there not the fake jobbies...
