broken clutch

Araprantly this is quite common, changing gear, clutch hit the floor little black piece of metal on the floor?????

AA man temp fixed with a self tapping screw and a cable tie, got it to my local garage, hopefully covered under the warranty i got with the car, (only had it for 2 1/2 weeks)

Yes it is quite common.

It's actually the master cylinder that has gone, which cause the piece of metal on the pedal to snap off and smash the black plastic stop.

You are looking at £75 worth of parts, plus three hours labour to change the pedal and master cylinder.
