broken spring

hi guys not had anything for a while.last friday on way to work front spring broke,had to take partners car,thought the removal of spring assembly would be an akward job to do, to my surprise it was simple enough job.Got new one on wedensday and fitted back onto the car job in total took about 2hrs to completly.:D

One old spring and one new one?
I'd be changing both, if not all four tbh.

I think the wisdom of replacing both springs when only one is broken is probably 90% sales related. My wife's Golf had a broken front spring and I only replaced the broken one. Looks and handles exactly the same as before.

Shockers are the ones that usually wear , bad practice to replace just 1 of them , but springs......
mmm not as bad
The only thing is , if you have had issues with 1 then it could be another
but no generally shockers

I had my front spring snap when i hit a pot hole, only replaced one and the car feels fine to drive and looks level.
