Brought some oil today....... But

Went down to the stealers today to get 5ltrs of oil and a new filter as im going to do a 5k oil change in a couple of days, I couldnt for the life of me remember what the best VW oil was called (vw gold synta, i know now), i asked the bloke if they did differant grades of recommended oil and if so i wanted the highest grade, He said the one that they use on there services was recommended by VW/Seat and was Quantum SL multigrade Advanced 15w-40, Will this be ok for the next 5k miles until it gets changed again? Or do you think i should change it for the Gold Synta?

I need to to give my car a service. Needs the full wak as it missed lasts year service what do i need anyway to preform the service air filter?? oil???

Air filter, Oil filter, Oil, Spark plugs, HT Leads, Pollen filter, Fuel Filter, Coolent change, Ive it hasnst been serviced for the past year depending on how many miles you have done id proberly change the front disks and pads too.

They maybe some more items that i have forgotton too....

If you do the disks and pads as well, i wouldnt expect much change out of £150-£200, Its easy if you know how. if you know where all the filters are then yeh its easy, you might struggle getting the sump plug out if its been in there for a year untouched! Id get a spare sump plug and copper washer anyway! ( they are supposed to be changed everytime anywho,) To make it easier lube it up with WD40 for a couple of days.

For what its worth mate i wouldnt bother, there quite expensive and IMO not worth the extra. Do a search im sure theres some opinions on them.!

To be honest mate i dont perticully like working on other ppls cars incase somthing go`s wrong and im left to foot the bill, i could speak to my brother who would proberly do it for you, for around that price. Id drop you back in abingdon and pick you up when its finished!, could also get a full valet for £25
