Went to the BTCC at Knockhill on Sunday - absolutely superb:) - spotted loads of Seats dotted around various carparks - one thing I would like to know - why are the majority of the touring cars, and the cupras, left hand drive? - suppose its something to do with race regulations perhaps:shrug: . Cheers folks.

Because most drivers are used to driving LHD cars - but also bits like uprated / short steering racks are only made LHD

It's not cost effective to make Race car bits in both LHD & RHD

The Honda's are RHD, because they're effectively a converted road coupe rather than a ground up race car.

I think weight distribution comes into it as well. Along with most racetracks being clockwise, so being seated on the left would give better vision, which was one of the reasons why the WTCC Chevy went from RHD to LHD.

probably more to counter the effect of the engine being sited on the right

ideally you'd want 50/50 in all axis
