Hi, I have a 2006 / 56 Ibiza TDI Fr 3 door currently on Koni lowering springs but looking to upgrade to coilovers.

DPM Performance are now doing a budget kit for the 6l which is £190.

Unfortunately not having posted more than 15 times I can't link to the website but search DPM Performance and they're for the 6l called FK AK Street Coilover Suspension Kit.

Looking at the info they seem to be fine having been made to strict standards and German TUV approved but looking for your opinions :) Anyone who knows a thing or two about them please let me know what you think :)

Cheers

Tom

I had fk coilovers on mine and they lasted less than a month. They were the £400'option. Can't remember the name now.

They certainly lowered the car but did nothing to improve handling. Shocks were badly matched to the springs. Ride was crashy. I wasn't impressed at all

I can vote for Ap coilies, had them on for over a year now. only hardens the ride a tiny bit and nothing gone wrong so far. hope this helps :)

Cheers people, thankyou for your responses really helped me out :D

If possible could anyone post some pics with the Weitec's or AP's on theirs if poss?? This would really help me decide.

Thanks again :)

how low you can go with AP's

But i wouldnt because mine scrubbed so i put teh front back up a bit

K+W vote here.....

had two sets now for diferent cars and can highly recomend them ..... don't buy budget ones, your suspension is one of the main things that keeps you on the road and it's not something to be tight over if your changing it....:)

if your on a low budget i wouldnt go for anything other than AP or weitec, as you will prob hear buy cheap buy twice! but with those 2 you cant go wrong

Raceland or what ever they call them selfs now on ebay, cant go wrong mate porb not up to spec of more expensive ones but give a good ride plus handling for half the price.
Depends what your looking for if you want perfect handling spend some money, If you want a improvement on springs go for some cheap ones.

AP coilovers mate. all the way down at the back with every out, the fronts just lowered to match the front but still has a few turns left in her. i cant get any fingers in the back archs and only scrubs a tiny bit when on full lock on the front inside arch.

As mentioned the AP and Weitec are the prefered choice on the site and also a very good option.

The FKs you've mentioned, AK, are more of a budget kit but they do also do more of a mid range kit, Highsport.

out of intrest how would you compare the basic kw variant 1 coilover kit and weitec hicon gt coilover kit for comfort and handling?
as the prices are not masively different and if there both made by the same company is there really much difference in the product.

or are the weitec hicon gt the same as the basic kw kit only branded weitec making them cheaper because the name isnt kw?
