Build Codes

I see that other English language Ateca board needs a steer again... Build codes. If you want to know what component parts you have in your car, useful to understand how it works. You do a VIN look up.

Three ways to do this.

A. Ask your dealer to do it and get a print out

B. Do it for free but these sites come and go since VAG like to charge for ETKA. There might be an English one out there but at the minute only find Russian :)... do it in Chrome to auto translate

https://drive.by/spare/etka/vin/

Enter 17 character VIN code

Obviously translation could be a bit ropey

C. Cough up for Erwin for an hour get the VIN details and download all manuals and SSPs. Details here:

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/seat-repair-manual-and-workshop-information.438077/

Treasure trove of documented information on the Ateca.

(Build codes are useful when Honest John is rubbishing the gear box and gives the code etc. Also useful for VCDS stuff since they are parts of the cars system that are defined etc)

Hi Tell,

Yes, I've been trying to get to the bottom of the build codes and the gearbox and whether HJ is talking out of his butt!

Thanks for the links above, I'd already decoded a couple of VINs...
