bump Strips

Just a quick question really.

dropping me bumpstrips off to be painted as i have a spare set..

anyway i know the old ones are stuck on but is there locating pins when putting them back on?

or is it a case of pull one off and stick back on?

may just give it to the boys who's painting them to do.

just wonderinf it its easier for me to do

took mine off yesterday... heat them up first then what i did was put a layer cloth with a clectrical screwdriver on top... prizzed it of on the corner... heated it up and pulled it off

Here's another example of what's under the bump strips:

If you have brand new strips they will have the self-adhesive foam around the edge and it's just a case of removing the backing tape and pressing the strips to the bodywork.

The prongs on the strip fit the holes in the bodywork so you can't really get them on wonky. The glue on the strip is quite strong though, so you need to make sure it doesn't touch the car until you're sure it's lined up with the edge of the door correctly.

I just gave it to the guys to do when i got mine done, cos if they mess it up, they fix it again.

well when seat painted my car at the cills with the rust i asked him to do it but he wasnt prepared tp spend time and put heavy primer on to cover the textured parts and then spray...

Even at that they did a pish job....

Mine need doing to be honest. Need to take them off then get them done as they have got a little bit of a white look to them
