hi peep
was out today in my ibiza and when i got home i smelt burning rubber smell
dont think its clutch smell unless its belts
ive only got the car 5 days and will be giving her a full service soon
most importantly the timming belt as i would not take previous owners word for it and thats on any car i buy

:shrug::lol:

try not to wheelspin the car to death and it wont smell of rubber ;) :D on a serious note check none of the belts are rubbing where they shouldnt and deffinately have the timing belt looked at like you said, if all ok check none of the wheels are binding (brakes being seized on).. although i wouldnt describe brakes to give a rubber smell

I'd also check the OS inner driveshaft gaiter! If split it deposits grease straight onto the manifold!

lol dont thrash it then

Smells like a slipping belt, also make sure nothing is dangling onto the exhaust.
