Buttons with everything

Buttons are coming back. Guess the new Raval will fall inline or not. I see some early pictures didnt have the row of buttons under the infotainment screen but may be the buttons are being held back for a future VZ model . Have to wait and see, big reveal.

I also read recently that from this year, Euro NCAP testing will penalise cars that rely entirely on touchscreens to access and operate essential controls such as HVAC - presumably because it can be (is?) a potential driver distraction that might contribute to an accident.

So I dare say the Euro NCAP move may influence car manufacturers’ decisions to reintroduce - or retain - physical controls; very sensible IMHO.

They say buttons are coming back but all I see are half-*ssed attempts to dodge the criticism. They put some buttons for most-used climate controls and leave the rest of them on the infotainment screen. You have to learn which one is where and get used to it. I'm not sure which approach is better, I dare say leave them all where they are.

You dont need multi function ones where you have to keep pressing to find what you want on important stuff. We'll see.

Audi took it one step further and put it on the door, on an all-touch flimsy single plate along with mirror controls. Headlight controls on the door. Unbelievable.

I'm trying to work out the logic of putting the Max Defrost and rear screen heater controls with the main lighting "switch".
I've given up because my head hurts now

That was my exact thought the first time I saw it when the mk4 Leon was launched; change for the sake of change IMHO providing no benefit over the previous physical rotary light switch in the mk3. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Yes, even after near four years of having this, I still press the wrong button regularly.
