Coil packs fail, as do MAF sensors,

At 54k, check if the timing belt has been changed, due at 60k. Also if it has had a new water pump, ask owner. Both usually done at same time, to avoid further costs in the future.

Check the fuse tray on top of the battery.
Make sure the headlights have grey inserts, as if they dont they aint cupra lights.

Check for CD changer, make sure aircon works, hot and cold.

Check engine temp stays midway, when both running and idling.

Erm, cant think of anything else!

Check the stereo works, one of my speakers on the support shelf in boot was blown but i didnt check,
also cooling fan was on its way out, the time i test drove it i had no probs so didn t think anything of it, be good to just ask.
Also he mentioned there were 1 or 2 small dents in the car which you notice when he told me, but after closer inspection at home is was more like 3 or 4!

mines the same age and had done similar miles when i bought it 4 months ago :)

Good luck!

If you have a look at the Service History you should be able to see what its had done? Also find out if its FSSH or FSH?

I agree find out if the Cambelt has been checked or changed, it should be done every 5 years or at 60,000 miles so IIRC yours should have been done as our car is 6 years old now? Like Forbez said its worth getting the Water Pump replaced at the same time as the Cambelt being done

Remember to take some time out and look at the exterior too, like the paintwork and the condition of the seats

What colour is it?

Its Silver :) Thanks for the tips guys/girls.I am off to see it today so will write some of those things down to take with me. Its a garage that is selling it so hopefully will be able to raise some of these points to knock down the price :D

If its Silver then the seats will have Grey/Black inserts

Cambelt change isnt until 120k. Its a visual check at 60k. But most replace it around 60k to prvent possible problems.

Window switches/regs.
Worn door handles
Worn leather
MAF issues
Coilpacks
check trip computer works, as the radio fails and seat tend to replace with a lower spec item.
Battery located fuses
Worn mats
Chipped paint on bonnet.

IIRC it should be checked and possibly replaced at 60,000 miles or replaced every 5 years

Also check for flat spots in paint

TBH the book says 120k, but i didnt wanna spend out on a new engine, so i got it done at 60!

Fecking car!

Yeah same here! I dont have the money to risk not getting it done to be honest

Did you get the Water Pump done too?
