Buying copy LCR front bumpers/sideskirts

Hi, I was wondering if anyone on here has bought LCR front bumpers/sideskirts from ebay.

1. Is there any pitfalls that I should be looking out for when buying off ebay? Should they fit ok?

2. Roughly how much do you think it would cost to spray and fit the bumper and skirts?

i think the consensious is that once you have paid out for grills etc then the savings are not so much and then its a mare to get them to fit.
Then once you have dont this and paid out for a good spray you scrap a speed bump and they crack. (or at least the fibre glass ones have been reported as cracking).
There are a few who have brough cheap, fitted then paid out for original bumpers within a week or 2!

Cheers for the quick reply andycupra. So what you're saying then is that it's a bit of a false economy to go down the ebay route. Do they tend to be more brittle than the originals SEAT ones?

How much would it cost for an original front bumper and grills from a dealer then?

They are a pain to fit aswell since they dont have all the proper holes etc you got to know what your doing tbh.

other have found they are brittle.. whether these are from this supplier i cant say.

Orignal bits are not cheap. for example the front LCR bumper is about £400 then you need the central grill ( its different on the LCR) two side grills... however the bottom centre and top grills either side of the 'S' are part of the LCR bumper as they are heat welded in place.

Spraying extra.

Rear bumper... id guess about £220 but im not sure.

I'm not sure what to do.

The original parts are more expensive than I imagined, but at the same time I know there must be a reason why they're so expensive and these copies are so cheap in comparison.

I don't want to spend money getting the bumper sprayed if it's gonna split at the first minor 'knock' or if the holes aren't drilled properly.

Hard to know what to do....

The best option is to keep looking on eBay for second hand ones there are always front and rears on but the side skirts are a bit rare, the rough price would be £100-£150 for the front and the same for the rear it depends what you get with the front in regards to the grills, the main grill (the middle one) is £30 and the fog light grills are £9 each then you will need the guide profiles and they are around £12 each the rear guide profiles are £17 each if you have the face lift cupra then you dont need the guides, this is based on my experience i paid £100 for the front with all the grills except the fog light ones and £80 for the rear i found some skirts and these where £140 inc all fittings, the cost of these vareys greatly depending on the competition.
Sorry i forgot the wheel arch extentions the fronts are only a couple of pounds i dont know about the rears as mine came with them.

Actually the best option if you the cash is to get a set made. The fact is the original bumpers are heavy plastic crap. However you need a deep wallet. GRP is the heaviest of the replacements, but still a good saving over the originals, CRP is 30% saving, and CKRP is a 45%+.

Note: I am not giving prices there CKRP is going to cost a boat load.

In short those on ebay are a pain to fit, but are lighter, they are brittle but what the hell are driving into everyday. Also they taken from the original part and fit very well, I had a buddy buy a set and they fited fine with a little tweak on the holes but no real issues. He replaced his standard LCR bumpers with those after smashing them up at knockhill.
