Does anyone else's FR 170 TDi make a buzz/hum for about 30 seconds after you switch the ignition off.
My Leon is in the grage and they have told me this is normal as it is due to the cooling fans for the turbo. I've never heard of this before and the noise is more of an electrical hum to me.

Just want to check with other owners before I speak to them tomorrow.
cheers guys

engine bay.
To me it sounds like a capacitor or the likes discharging.

I think my chain is being pulled by the garage but want some confirmation from other owners first.

Noticed mine doing the same thing the other night - not noticed it since.

Don't know if it's a coincidence, but the buzzing stopped when the coming home lights went off.

yep, mine does it too.

if you wanna know if there pulling your chain, pop the bonnet open, shut the engine down, and go and have a gander.

then come and tell us all your findings

water pump / oil pump .... running to cool turbo down ....

Cannot remember which one... think water .. was told .. but forgotten

So its a bit like a Turbo timer but without leaving the engine running.

My Mates got an Evo with a turbo timer but when you open the door it switches off. Think that might be a waste of time!!!!

yeah it the secondary water pump i think that keeps running to cool engine parts down. My scooby use to have a turbo timer but it would run when you got out the car and even locked it and just walk away. Brilliant thing for cooling down the turbo!

I thought about getting one on my cupra but aint much point really.
