Buzzing noise

Not sure if this is normal, everytime start ignition or unlock door, i get buzzing noise comin from the engine, near alternator, is some sort of pump still running eg water pump?

it sounds like the secondry water pump it comes on when the ignition is turned on ,never heard it come on when you just open the door .

On my Mk4, I get about a 5 sec buzz every time I open the driver's door or turn on the ignition, which is the fuel pump priming in anticipation of the engine starting. Not sure if that's the same buzz you're talking about though
