show cage = :gay:

why bother carting something around in the back of your car if:
1) it has no real purpose.. apart from telling people your a fooking idiot.
2) if you crash, they have been known to break / hurt occupants of the car.
3) pointless weight

i guess it is 'cool' ( :gay: ) if you like to:
1) hang around in halford, mcdonalds etc car parks
2) like trying to brag to your mates you have a 'functional' cage
3) you want to look like a complete :w4nk: / or you are one!
4) trying to pull a 14 yr old girl who's your mates sister.. and telling her your a racing driver and you track your car because it has a 'cage' inside.

i have been here a lot longer than you have AND I have helped out the community by doing how to's and helping fellow members fix thier cars...
not that any of that matters here....

in my previous post i highlighted the fact show cages are sh*t. chavs in saxo's and corsas have them to make it look like their car really has been around the ring, even though they purchased a sticker on ebay saying they have, and the furthest they have ever gone near a track is racing around their local roads being idiots.

I used to do trackdays so am well aware of the safety issues of a crash in a car with show cages.... they just fold up offering no structural strength and folding dangerously injuring the cars occupants.

lets not let this thread get in to a p*ssing contest... it is common knowledge throughout the motoring community that show cages are shizer, pointless and very dangerous. again... show cage = :gay:

I've just welded in an omp cage in my mates mk2 golf, I made proper spreader plates for the anchor points which I welded the the floor pan, no show cages are made for strength, show cages are just for show like there called I wouldn't waste my money

Is that full or rear cage. Trying to find a rear cage but I'm not having much luck.

Possible to make a rear cage but keep the rear seats? Like the looks of a show cage but the safety factor worries me. I know they aren't everyones cup of tea but I think one would look good in my car and continues the theme I want to obtain over the winter.

it was a full cage but I'm sure you could cut the front bars off if you don't want them, as long as the rear of the cage has secure and solid mounts it should still be 100 times safer than a show cage

you cant have a rear cage that is passanger friendly.....

any cage that is located near a seated occupant should be very padded and the occupant of that should wear a helmet.

ecxuse me people but FFS cages ARE Dangerous if you dont have the correct safety gear in place to stop the driver or passangers slamming in to the cage in a crash..
why do you think 6 point harnesses and bucket seats are used with crash helmets when a race car is driven.

yes... a:gay: cage will fit in your car but again... even if its for looks, people can easily spot its a :gay: cage and take the piss.

Again. show cages are VERY DANGEROUS, and you really are a fool to fit one.

Its shocking how people dont understand how dangerous they are if you are in a crash :(
