I could make this a long story but Im not going to.

I just changed my cam follower. I'll be honest I'm a hypochondriact. I read up on it and thought 'right it doesn't sound that hard' so I took fuel pump out took cam follower out (not too bad wear. It has some but not a lot)

Put new one in then put fuel pump in but it wouldn't sit flush. I remembered something about tdc. So put it in fourth and rocked it but it still took a effort to push the fuel pump flush to screw the three screws in.

Did all three up clockwise, not tightening any more than the other until they were all tight. Started car all sounds fine.........

But is it? The hypocondriact in me is saying I must've done something wrong like put cam follower in wrong so it's not going to fuel right?

Drove it just now for about a hour seems ok.......... Anyway the point of this thread is to tell me it's all ok.

It's ok.
The reason the pump doesn't sit flush is your pushing against the fuel pump spring, even when it's not on the came you've to push it the last 1/4 inch.
Perfectly normal.

No the follower fits into a guide so it can't go squint etc.
The cam follower only fits one way as the pump wouldn't fit if it was fitted the wrong way.
The only other thing to watch is not to burst the oring.
Then tighten the pump up evenly and make sure it doesn't leak oil or fuel and that's it.
