Im seriously considering buying an Ibiza Cupra tdi I have my eye on. Everything seems kosher so far, and the seller has honestly told me it's due a cambelt change.

It's kind of at the top of my budget (infact its a bit over) so I was wondering what sort of ball park figure I would really need to budget for a standard cambelt/water pump change at a local garage.

Cheers.

Lew.

The guy was on here asking about reasonable sale prices etc. it was me that pointed out that he should factor in to his price the cambelt kit if it's not already been done lol

Ah, I see.

It looks nice, but its the other end of the country to me. I only really had 5 grand and its up for 5,900 but I could maybe push my budget a little further if I tell my kids Christmas is cancelled LOL!

Just don't think I can stretch to what he's wanting considering its gonna cost me £150 to go and collect it and then be hit with a £300+ cambelt bill straight away (which I wouldn't ever risk not doing). :(

Hmmm see what you are saying. It's a toughy because i would say his price is reasonable. I gave 5990 for mine with 59000 on clock and similarly the cam belt was also due. Mine is 07 and was almost 200 miles away

At a good price!

Well after a lot off thinking, and weighing up the pro's and cons, I decided to bite the bullet and put a deposit down on the car in question. I pick it up next Friday, so by this time next week, I should be the proud owner of a 57 plate Cupra TDi. :)

Where abouts are you [B)]?

Kendal, just on the way in to Cumbria..

Good excuse to make use of the new car driving on some Great Lake District roads!

Congratulations mate! They're well worth it ;)

We were chatting on the phone for some time and the seller does seem genuine enough. I managed to squeeze him down to 5.5k which I was happy with and that'll cover the cambelt change.

Quite looking forward to picking it up. Always nice to get a new car :)

That's a great price, congratulations!

Yeah, he did seem genuine, the link below is the thread where he was asking.
Only just posted it as I didn't want to be responsible for how much the car went for as it has the glass valuation price on ;).
