Hi all im a newbie here so sorry if this post has been on here before, i used to and still and a member of audi-sport.net sold my audi a4 for a leon cupra r and im lovin it fantastic car. just have a question the car had 84k miles full seat service history but it hasn't had a cambelt change done yet. i asked the previous owner and he said the seat dealers said it doesn't need changing till 100,000-120,000 is this true? its a 03 plate leon cupra r (210) registered in march 2003 just need advise to i can book it in at my mechanics for a cambelt and service with water pump.

thanks all

Cam belt should be changed at every 60k so if thats been done then the next one will be at 120k :)

In the service book it states that the cambelt should be 'checked' at 60k and changed if required, and then checked etc every 10k. If it hasn't been changed before, it should then be changed at 120k.

I don't know many people who would leave a cambelt for 120k before changing it..... most get them done @ 60k.

I'd look at at least getting yours checked asap, if not changed ;)
