Can I put facelift xenon headlights to a seat leon mk3 fr without the tech pack?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a mk3 seat leon fr, found one on eBay that has all the bells and whistles except the tech pack, so it has the standard headlights. I was wondering is it possible to install the facelift xenon headlights to the leon mk3 fr without the tech pack? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to any replies

I'm not sure if it's possible with the facelift headlights, but I've seen people who have replaced the halogen lights with the pre-facelift LED lights.

But please don't get a car without the tech pack. It's an absolute must for the car, if you're willing to spend money on the headlights, you'll have money in your budget to get a car that already has it.

Agreed. I believe the retrofit can be done, but it'll be expensive and time-consuming. Get a car with the features you want in the first place.

Also they're LED headlights, not xenon.

What bells and whistles does it have ? The non tech pack cars were usually early and low spec cars albeit with a fairly decent standard spec for the time

Good point, I think I was just getting impatient, the fr I found was at a low price but I agree with you, I'm going to wait for the right car with the right specs to come along

Looking at it now it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it doesn't have the heated seats like the new one I've just seen, unfortunately it's red :(

Try not to get impatient, just keep watching until a good car comes up.

For example I spent 2 months looking for my Leon, and I bought it 3 days after the advert went up. Low mileage and (almost) every option.

Make sure you buy the car you want, not just a good deal that isn't the best car.

Yes, when I first saw the thread I thought you may have been referring to MK2, those do have xenons.

LED headlights are better and brighter than halogens (but perhaps not in foggy or very rainy conditions)

Are they better (brighter, longer reach) than the xenons, this is debatable.

Are all LED headlights created equal?
I would say probably not, Prius and Mercs LED headlights seem to be much brighter and intense than the Leon's (pre FL) when side by side at the lights.

What I can say though, is comparing high beams, the LEon's LED are way better and brighter than Ibiza Bi-Xenon's high beam. On dipped beam, I can see not a difference, just Leon is slightly more blueish.

So yes, do wait around for a TechPack equipted Leon, LED lights all round (just not signals and reverse light), Sat Nav and DAB radio + CD player & 2nd SD card slot in glove box, and possibly USB connectivity (either in glovebox or under AC controls).
