I recently bought a Seat Leon Sportstourer 1.0 TSI 110hp (KL8), and I’d really like to upgrade the wing mirrors to the electric foldable ones. I live in Portugal and contacted my local Seat dealer, but they told me this upgrade isn’t possible.
I’m not a mechanic or an electrician, but from what I’ve researched, it seems like the upgrade should mainly involve replacing the mirrors, swapping the interior switch for the version with the folding function, and activating the feature in the control unit. I'm also not sure whether my car already has the correct wiring for this retrofit, and I’m a bit hesitant to start taking the door panels apart without knowing what to look for.
How can I check if the necessary wiring is already in place before I begin disassembling anything?
