My cars been at the steelers since Tuesday after developing a fault with the headlights when on full beam. They come on initially and then go off after about 3-5 seconds and the bulb malfunction warning light comes up on the dash. Turn em off and then back on again and the same thing happens. Dealers are bewildered, anyone on here had the same problem or got any bright idea's:idea: - I miss my car.....

Thanks for that.
Can you tell me where you had the repair carried out coz my local dealership seem unable to rectify the fault :banghead2. I can then speak to someone who has heard of this fault before and will know what I am talking about. Incidentally, I have adaptive Bi-Xenons.

Motor failure certainly makes sense, or perhaps not failure but a failure of the system to confirm motor operation. ie a sensor.
But as with anything of this nature its cheaper, easier and quicker to replace the whole unit.

Some dealers search forums for answers when they dont know...

Near Reevo :)
Might be worth pointing your dealer at my dealer to see if they can come up with the answer??

Took them 4 visits and then 1 week with the car to work out the issue.

I'll PM you my dealer details and my car reg if you want.

Great News - After Tam's diagnosis, which i relayed to my dealer, my headlight (full beam) problem was finally solved and they work perfectly now. However, the stealers must have forgotten to reconnect the fog lights because they are now non-functional. Needless to say its back at the stealers on Thursday with a note requesting that they check all electrics before telling me that my car is ready :banghead2 Watch this space......
