Can you use a clay bar on a car that has been Supa-guarded?

As above, got myself a Meguire's clay bar kit but wandering if it's okay to use on my car that was Supa-guarded? Will it remove the protective surface?

I would'nt, but how long has the SGuard been on as it may have worn slightly anyway. .

It's been SGuarded for 2 years and 2 months now. It's something I'd like to do but want to make absolute sure its safe to do so first?

EDIT: Just done some research and it is not recommended that a clay bar is used for the first few years of a car that has been Supa guarded... Cheers anyway guys.

IMO after 2 years not much SG will still be left, if it were mine I'd want some new protection now. .

The clay will remove it in my opinion would be surprised if any left as already noted. I think those treatments should get the con of the year award.

Depends who u know I have had mine done outside and all the seat protection etc done an it cost me a grand total of 20 quid!

mine was done although called guard x, from what i read its a load of rubbish and fades very quickly, a wax every month or two weeks would be better protection, i got mine thrown in as part of the sale but i don't think its a good job as they did it over stains in the seats.

Supaguard stuff is a con, about as good and durable as any decent wax would be.

Wash the car with fairy in hot water to de grease it, clay it, give it a good polish and then a good wax with a decent wax or colour specific wax. job jobbed.

yeah supagaurd **** is crap, i used to work at a dealer, they sold it and never even put it on the cars as the customers that actuaally had it found it was messing with thee finish and the car wouldnt stay clean, i would be stripping that shite off and starting again with proper products thee finish will be amazing.

Cheers for the advice guys. Decided i'm just going to go ahead and clay polish and wax it for a better finish. I'll maybe put some before and after pics for those who are interested.

Like any wax/sealant, the surface has to be right before it's applied. .

Clay bar it will remove the coating

Then use Megs(meguires) paint cleaner, polish and finally wax in the red bottles they call it step 1,2,3

this will give you a mirror glass finish, then when washing use a low ph ballance car wash which will not remove the waxes and re was every 4-8 weeks without the polishing
