im new to seats and im after a leon cupra mk1 currently got a astra im just wondering if theres anything to look for? sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hey, i just bought one recently about 2 weeks ago. I think there is a buyers guide somewhere. Need to have a look for it, but it is definately on this forum.

As above, there's a guide on here somewhere but cambelt/water pump change in the service history was a must for me.

Especially if you can get cambelt reciept to ensure that it has been changed.

Things i looked for were:

1. FSH
2. Any mods, was looking for a non mapped car.
3. Check oil colour.
4. Check how the owner drives the car on a test run.
5. Check if car has had coil packs done on the SEAT Recall.
6. Check turbo pulls in every gear and check its not smoking out the back.
7. Take it on a road test at national speed limit road, check it doesnt go into limp mode.
8. Check all electrics work and the climate control.
9. Check all safety aspects, i.e. braking fine, seat belts work, all locks and door shuts working properly
10. Then just do usual checks as you would, check paper work, radio, hpi, etc.
