Galvanised panels

I know the Mk1 LCR has a galvanised body, but I don't know at what point in the production process this took place. Just wondering whether replacement OEM front wings would be galvanised. Thanks if you can clarify.

The body gets dipped in a giant bath. All the panels are galvanised separately and installed onto the body.
So yes, if you can find an OEM wing it'll be galvanised.

The process isn't perfect though. If you buy a £40k Golf today, some rust will appear on the wings in 20 year's time.
