As description. basically, the ibiza doesn't sense that I've removed the key, not too much of a bother, but it doesn't turn the radio (annoying) and doesn't let me remote lock :( Any idea's? I did trial fit a new radio the other day and that seems to have caused it...

it thinks the ignition is still on or you've wired the radio up wrong ?

if it's the igntion side try wd40 or similar in the barrel or try changing the switch on the rear of the barrel

my guess would be that youve wired the radio up wrongly, and have joined the positive and ign live together, so the rest of the car is getting its live from the radio wiring when you take the key out...

proly need to change that as the wire wont be thick enough to cope with doing it.

I think it's the ignition side, it's the stock radio thats not turning off. haven't changed the wiring, what kind of switch is behind the barrel? don't know as WD will do this one... :(

Sorry mate. Missed that post. I kinda thought that, but after forking out £200, you'd think they'd wire it up right before you try to install it... I worked out pretty quickly that they were the wrong way round. I think if anything, I've blown the switch... Next Question, how do you replace the switch? Is it possible? I tried the WD-40 option but no change. (btw I took so long to reply 'cos I took my dash apart to try and solve it :()

wd40 was just to make sure the barrel isn't sticking mechanically and also easier then the electric part :)

easy peasy on the switch, well not really it's a right pain to fit pullers and all sorts (see pic below) personally i would backtrack through what you did before it went wrong as that most likely caused the issue to start with

you mentioned the stereo being out recent and they have a habit of jamming in the controls when the panel goes back on not quite right so i would go back step by step and check :)

pic here just in case you do need it all though

was this due to the new radio u got? :(
my electrics have gone haywire lately, e.g wiper wash stickin on, / full beam headlight / lit up speed dials stayin on dash, even tho lights are off.?

I think so. reckon the ampage the thing needed to operate welded the switch shut. If I could get the switch out and pull the contacts apart, I think it'll be fine. Then, before I fit the radio again, I'll swap the rem on and perma live

With your problem, I think you need a new indicator/screen washer stalk assembly... thing. you get the idea. I think it's the switch that does it, Mine's playing silly twallops too :(
